Introducing SWIPED - The Series. A conversation which connects you to something you have been giving away for free: YOUR DATA. For real. Ever wonder what happens to that information when you are asked for your zip code at checkout? Or on-line when the box pops up? How about on your phone when you search for an address?
SWIPED is on the discovery to explore the world of data mining to follow the trail of where this information goes, who's using it and how the public can have more access to controlling its use. Call us crazy, but we don’t think the best use of your information being collected and sold is what you signed up for when you bought those clothes at the super department store.
Come check us out at the showing. Ask lots of questions. What doesn't get answered tonight may be the next episode on this journey. Bottom line: it is a startup launch and it is only the beginning. Good times will be had by all.

Mimsi International is saving the lives of pregnant women in Haiti with traditionally high maternal and infant mortality rates. This organization trains community members in southern Haiti in the art of prenatal care; then it supports them in running a mobile prenatal clinic that delivers much needed medical services to pregnant women in rural Haiti. The organization also has created an ultrasound training program for community volunteers to produce more sonographers to meet the needs of the very large community of pregnant women.
